Custom bats should be chosen only when you're sure about what you need. Branded bats come with the trust of an established name. If you're in doubt, a branded bat is almost always the better choice.
When Custom Makes Sense
Custom ordering is worth considering when:
- You've used multiple bats and know exactly what's missing
- Your playing style or physique demands uncommon specifications
- You can describe what you want in precise terms, weight, pickup, handle type, balance, profile
If you're unsure whether you need custom, you probably don't.
What We Have Access To
We work with OEMs who manufacture for major brands in India and internationally. They can craft bats to specific requirements including handle length, blade profile, pickup, balance, weight, and more.
We don't disclose OEM names, they manufacture for brands under strict confidentiality agreements.
What Custom Won't Fix
- A custom bat can still break. Willow is natural wood, no bat is unbreakable.
- Wood quality is not guaranteed to be better than retail
- You'll still need to knock it in and care for it properly
Custom improves fit and often offers value. It doesn't remove risk.
How It Works
- Start a conversation: Reach out on WhatsApp to discuss whether custom is right for you. This is a discussion, not a sale. We may recommend a retail bat instead.
- Share your requirements: If custom makes sense, share your specs (weight, pickup, handle type, grain preference, bow position, any special requests).
- We coordinate with the OEM: Based on your requirements, clefts are selected and crafting begins.
- Crafting: Typically takes 3–10 days.
- Quality check: We monitor quality throughout, ensuring the bat doesn't deviate from spec.
- Delivery: Once ready, the bat is shipped to you.
Warranties
We've negotiated a lifetime handle warranty on all custom bats. There's also more flexibility around breakage compared to off-the-shelf options.
Pricing
Custom bats aren't always cheaper than branded alternatives. Price should never be the primary reason to go custom, specificity should be.
