This page explains where CricketGear.in equipment comes from and how we work with our supply network.
Our Approach
We visit authorised distributors for leading cricket brands on a daily basis. This ongoing relationship means we have current visibility into what's available, at what price, and in what stock.
For certain categories, particularly custom bats, we also work directly with manufacturers (OEMs) who produce for major brands in India and internationally. Some of these manufacturers give us unrestricted factory access, though this is typically reserved for large orders.
What This Means for Members
- Current pricing: Because we're in regular contact with distributors, the pricing in your quotes reflects what's actually available right now
- Availability: We can tell you quickly whether something is in stock or needs to be ordered
- Range: Access to products across major brands, not limited to a single distributor
Branded vs Custom
We source both branded products and custom-made equipment:
- Branded gear: Sourced from authorised distributors. These come with the trust and warranties of established brand names.
- Custom bats: Made by OEMs who manufacture for major brands. OEM names are confidential, they operate under strict agreements with the brands they produce for. See our Custom Bats page for more detail.
Transparency
We're straightforward about what we can and can't share:
- We can tell you the brand, specifications, and pricing of any product
- We cannot disclose OEM names for custom bats due to confidentiality agreements
- If you have questions about a specific product's origin or specifications, just ask
Quality
We don't run a formal multi-stage inspection lab. What we do:
- Verify that products match the specifications you were quoted
- Check for obvious defects before dispatch
- Monitor custom bat crafting to ensure it doesn't deviate from your requirements
- Handle any quality issues directly with the distributor or manufacturer if something isn't right
